Friday Night Recap

DiFranco at Bank ESB

At Jachym Field in Westfield, Bank ESB continued to climb in the standings with a 3-0 win over DiFranco Realty. Matt Gardner and Conner McMahon dominated on the hill for Bank ESB, combining for 11K, and scattering 3 hits. Noah Connor pitched well in the complete-game loss. Gunner Genovese broke it open in the home half of the fourth, driving the ball through a drawn-in infield, and keeping the inning alive. Bank ESB improves to 4-3, while DiFranco drops to 2-3.

Teddy Bear Pools at PeoplesBank

At Mackenzie Stadium, the Bankers suffered a rare home loss at the hands of one of their former hurlers, Tom Weldon. In a pitchers' dual, Weldon held the Bankers to a run, while striking out five, and scattering seven hits in the complete-game victory. In the other dugout, reigning Wes Carr Pitcher of the Year Danny Gaines took the hard-luck loss, striking out eight while yielding six hits, and a pair of runs to the Poolmen, in a complete-game effort. Peoples falls to 3-1 on the season, while Teddy Bear improves to 2-1.

Longmeadow Cardinals at St. Joseph's

The Cards visited St. Joe's Park and left with a victory over the Saints, 3-1. The Cardinals improve their record to 2-4. St. Joe's will look to break out of a two-game losing streak when they visit the Cards on Monday night. They currently sit at 1-3.
