Teddy Bear Pools climbed to fourth in the standings with 5-1 win over host Pa'Lante at South Hadley High School on Thursday night. Starter Andrew Sadowsky (Elms) threw a 78-pitch, complete-game victory for the Poolmen. Next up for Teddy Bear will be visiting DiFranco Realty on Friday night. Pa'Lante will host the Cards at South Hadley High School.

In a rare Saturday Tri-County League matinee, the Longmeadow Cardinals outslugged the hot Teddy Bear Poolmen, 10-7, at Spec Pond Field in Wilbraham. With the win, the Cards jumped from eighth to fourth in the standings (4-7). Teddy Bear falls to fifth, with a record of 3-4.

The Bankers came to East Longmeadow on Friday night and beat host DiFranco Realty 5-2. Reigning Wes Carr winner Danny Gaines (MCLA) threw six solid innings for the win, striking out four while scattering four hits. The Realtors took Gaines deep twice in the fourth - TCL veteran Shawn Giles lined one over the leftfield fence for his first of the year. Two batters later, Merrimack commit Frank Ferrintino hit a moon-shot that cleared the wall to bring DiFranco within three. Gaines settled down and limited the damage to just those two runs, turning it over to fellow lefty Jimmy Flahive (AIC) who closed the game out with a 1-2-3 seventh for the save. Noah Connor (Post) took the loss, allowing only a pair of earned runs while striking out two over seven innings. PeoplesBank improves to 7-2, while DiFranco drops to 3-6.

St.Joseph's improved to 3-6 on the season with a 5-4 win over Pa'Lante at the Joe's in Palmer. Brandon Magni came in and closed out the visitors for the save. Pa'Lante falls to 3-7 with the loss.

The Chicopee Falls Tigers are back to within a game of first place following a decisive 14-4 victory over the visiting Saints of St. Joseph's. The Tigers' bats came alive, with several players having multi-hit games, including Harley Kagan, Travis Kagan, Max Chipman, Tom Burzynski, Nick Kreuzer, and player/coach Sean Bourgeoise. Chicopee improves to 7-4 on the season, while the Joe's fall to 2-6 with the loss.

At East Longmeadow High School, Teddy Bear Pools improved to .500 (3-3) on the season with a 4-1 victory over host DiFranco Realty. Andrew Sadowski (Elms) cruised through five innings, striking out seven while yielding two hits. The only run allowed was following a double to the left-center gap by DiFranco center fielder Justin Cruz (AIC), who advanced to third after a pair of walks, and scored on a sacrifice fly to center by DiFranco first baseman, and Sadowski's former Elms College teammate, Ty Emet. Darion Rosado took the loss for DiFranco, tossing a complete game, scattering six hits, and allowing two earned runs.

On Monday night, the Longmeadow Cardinals earned a 4-3 road victory over Pa'Lante, at South Hadley High School. With the win, the Cards pass Pa'Lante in the standings; both teams sitting on three wins.

The Chicopee Falls Tigers came out on top of a pitching duel against Pa'Lante on Friday night. Jason Byers threw a complete game, 1-0 victory, striking out a dozen while improving to 4-0 on the season. Endy Morales took the loss, surrendering a single to Sean Bourgeoise in the sixth, who scored onTom Burzynski's base hit. Chicopee improves to 6-4, while Pa'Lante drops to 3-5.

Danny Gaines (MCLA) went long enough for PeoplesBank to improve to 6-1, with a 16-5 victory over St. Joseph's at St.Joe's Park Friday night. Ryan Magni took the loss for the Saints, who fall to 2-5 on the season.

In a battle of the Meadows, DiFranco Realty edged-out the Longmeadow Cardinals, 3-1, at East Longmeadow High School on Friday night. Noah Connor (Post University) improved to 2-1 on the season with his third complete game of the year. Ryan Nodell (Elms) went the distance in the loss.

Wednesday Night's Action

At Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, recently graduated AIC Yellow Jacket Jimmy Flahive (W) was masterful on the hill, as PeoplesBank beat DiFranco Realty 6-1. Flahive cruised through six strong innings, striking out seven while allowing four hits, and an earned run. TCL veteran Andrew Gaines (MCLA) took the ball in the seventh, where the big righty tossed a 1-2-3 inning to close the game out. Reigning league MVP Dave Clark (AIC) had two hits, including a double, and scored twice, while first baseman Kyle Platner (Elms) also collected a pair of hits, knocking in a run, and also scoring twice. DiFranco had a rally going in the top of the fifth when DH Alex Provost doubled to right, and SS Ty Emet (Elms) knocked him in with a double to left. DiFranco then loaded the bases, but Flahive settled down and shut the door allowing no further damage. Darien Rosado threw four strong innings in the loss, turning it over to John Carmel, who threw two perfect innings to cool the Bankers' bats in the sixth and seventh. With the win, PeoplesBank (5-1) sits four points behind league-leading Bank ESB in the standings. DiFranco Realty falls to 2-4, and in fourth place. The two teams meet again on the 24th at East Longmeadow High School.

At South Hadley High School, Pa'Lante jumped into third place in the standings with a 6-5 win over the Saints of St. Joseph's. Pa'Lante improves to 3-4, while Joe's drop to 2-4. No other details have been provided.

At Jachym Field in Westfield, Bank ESB continues to roll, beating the visiting Longmeadow Cardinals 8-2. With the win, Bank ESB secured their league-leading seventh win (7-3), while the Cards dropped to 2-6. No other details have been provided.

At Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, surging PeoplesBank got their fourth win of the season, beating the Tigers 6-0. Zach Handzel tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out 6. Santaniello took the loss for Chicopee Falls, who fall to 5-4 on the season. 



In Monday night action, the bats and the arms were working for the Saints, as the visiting Joe's beat the Longmeadow Cardinals 12-0 at Longmeadow High School. Jake Petrin was perfect through four for St. Joseph's, yielding to Sam Schrieber who threw the fifth, allowing no hits and a walk. The two combined for the five-inning no-hitter. St. Joseph's improves to 2-3, while the cards fall to 2-5. 


Bank ESB took over sole possession of first place with a 7-4 victory over Teddy Bear Pools, in late Tuesday night action.

DiFranco at Bank ESB

At Jachym Field in Westfield, Bank ESB continued to climb in the standings with a 3-0 win over DiFranco Realty. Matt Gardner and Conner McMahon dominated on the hill for Bank ESB, combining for 11K, and scattering 3 hits. Noah Connor pitched well in the complete-game loss. Gunner Genovese broke it open in the home half of the fourth, driving the ball through a drawn-in infield, and keeping the inning alive. Bank ESB improves to 4-3, while DiFranco drops to 2-3.

Teddy Bear Pools at PeoplesBank

At Mackenzie Stadium, the Bankers suffered a rare home loss at the hands of one of their former hurlers, Tom Weldon. In a pitchers' dual, Weldon held the Bankers to a run, while striking out five, and scattering seven hits in the complete-game victory. In the other dugout, reigning Wes Carr Pitcher of the Year Danny Gaines took the hard-luck loss, striking out eight while yielding six hits, and a pair of runs to the Poolmen, in a complete-game effort. Peoples falls to 3-1 on the season, while Teddy Bear improves to 2-1. 


Longmeadow Cardinals at St. Joseph's

The Cards visited St. Joe's Park and left with a victory over the Saints, 3-1. The Cardinals improve their record to 2-4. St. Joe's will look to break out of a two-game losing streak when they visit the Cards on Monday night. They currently sit at 1-3.

On Thursday night, Pa'Lante (Formerly The Still), also picked up their first win of the season, getting a tough road win against Bank ESB, 9-1.

In a heavyweight battle, visiting PeoplesBank held on to beat Bank ESB 4-3 at Easthampton High School Wednesday night. Zach Handzel started for Peoples and went 4 1/3, yielding 2 earned before giving the ball to Jim Flahive (W), who promptly surrendered a 3-run, go-ahead blast to ESB's Nohilly. Trailing in the 7th, Peoples' Kyle Platner put his team ahead for good with a two-run bomb off reliever Josh Guilmartin. Brendan Fournier started for ESB, going 3 2/3, allowing 2 earned in the no-decision. With the win, PeoplesBank and ESB currently sit a game behind league leader Chicopee Falls Tigers, with Peoples holding the head-to-head advantage over ESB.

 to a 7-1 win over Pa'Lante (formerly The Still) at East Longmeadow High School.
 Rosado scattered three hits over seven innings, allowing no earned runs.
 TCL veteran Shawn Jiles doubled, singled, walked, and scored three runs, 
while Cam Rivest had two hits and scored twice in the victory.
 DiFranco improved to 2-2, while Pa'Lante is still looking 
for their first win of 2022.

  • The Tigers remain hot through week two, staying undefeated through four games. On Friday night against the Cards, Jake Chaplin threw a complete game shutout, firing 12 K's. 
  • Chicopee Falls hurler Dan LaValley (pictured below) helped lead the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over Easthampton Savings Bank on Tuesday night at Szot Park. It sure is nice to see TCL Baseball back at Szot under the lights! 
  • St. Joseph's got into the win column with a Friday night 3-1 victory over DiFranco Realty, at The Joe. Adam Pryzbycian threw 5 strong innings, allowing 1 run, giving way to Brandon Magni, who shut DiFranco out over the last two innings. Noah Connor gave up one earned in the complete-game loss, raising his ERA to .071 after two starts. 
  • PeoplesBank held off The Still for a 10-8 win at Mackenzie Stadium. The reigning eight-time champions are 1-0, while The Still starts the season at 0-2.
