Saints Stay Perfect

St. Joseph's Saints 9, Turners Falls Athletic Club 4

The St. Joseph's Saints rode a powerful first-inning surge to defeat the Turners Falls Athletic Club 9-4 on Thursday afternoon at Frontier Regional High School.

The Saints wasted no time getting on the board, striking for four runs in the top of the first inning. The opening salvo was fueled by a Turners Falls defensive error, a clutch two-run single from Pat Fitzgibbons, and an RBI single from Brandon Magni. St. Joseph's padded their lead in the third inning when Dillon Slattery drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, ultimately tagging Turners Falls starter Logan Cormier for eight runs (four earned) on seven hits over four innings of work.

Turners Falls battles back with patience at the plate, drawing nine total walks during the game—led by two apiece from Cormier and Kyle Barnes. Dylen Richardson, Cole Boisvert, and Phelps each drove in a run for Turners Falls AC, but they were unable to close the gap against St. Joseph's starter Jackson Hayes. The crafty left-hander earned the victory, limiting Turners Falls to three hits and just one earned run over four innings despite battling through six walks. Kevin Dupras pitched in relief to secure the win.

The Saints' offense racked up nine hits on the day, anchored by an impressive performance from Fitzgibbons. Holding down the cleanup spot, Fitzgibbons went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBIs, two walks, and two stolen bases. Team teammates Jake Hayes and Brandon Magni also turned in multi-hit performances with two hits each.

St. Joseph's will look to carry this momentum into their home matchup against Teddy Bear Pools on Friday, while Turners Falls resets for their next contest.
