Saints Surge Past PeoplesBank 10–5, with DiMichele, Jodoin Driving the Offense at MacKenzie Stadium

A five-run fifth seals it; Hayes earns the win with 3⅔ scoreless earned innings, and Feltovic holds the fort as St. Joe's stay hot on the road

The St. Joseph's Saints have made a habit of road wins this season, and Wednesday at MacKenzie Stadium was no different. Paced by a balanced offensive attack and a steady pitching effort from Jackson Hayes, the Saints rolled past PeoplesBank 10–5, sending the home club to consecutive losses and keeping St. Joe's in firm command atop the Tri-County standings.

The Saints wasted no time building an early cushion. In the second inning, Greg Vouros grounded into a double play that nonetheless scored a run, and a PeoplesBank error let two more cross — a messy, opportunistic three-run frame that set the tone. St. Joe's tacked on two more in the fourth, and then came the decisive fifth: Nate Carillon drew a walk to score one, Vouros drew a walk to score another, Jake Hayes hit a sacrifice fly to plate a third, and Mark Jodoin capped it with a two-run sacrifice fly of his own — five runs on one hit. The Saints didn't need to pound the ball to do damage; they simply would not make outs.

Joey DiMichele was the offensive standout, going 3-for-4 and driving in two runs to anchor the middle of the order. Jodoin also knocked in two, and Dillon Slattery went 2-for-3 at the top of the lineup while scoring three runs himself. Devin Slattery scored three runs as well, and Vouros drew two walks to help manufacture the offense. As a team, St. Joe's drew eight free passes — patient at the plate even as the score expanded.

Hayes earned the win on the mound, working 3⅔ innings and allowing four hits and one unearned run while striking out four, albeit with five walks. Jack Feltovic came on in relief and went 3⅓ innings, giving up four runs on seven hits — enough to let PeoplesBank make it respectable in the later frames, but never threatening the outcome. Flahive took the loss for PeoplesBank, lasting four innings and allowing five runs — three earned — on six hits. Lavalley followed and was unable to record an out, walking four and allowing five runs before Rosado shut things down over three clean innings. Both Allen, Gegetskas, and Hogan each went 2-for-4 to lead PeoplesBank's 11-hit effort, with Hogan driving in two. St. Joe's host PeoplesBank again on Friday for another look.
