Saints Outduel PeoplesBank in Gritty 4–2 Tilt
By GameChanger Media | July 11, 2025 | St. Joseph's FieldOn a warm Friday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Field, the hometown Saints clawed their way to a hard-fought 4–2 triumph over a determined PeoplesBank nine. It was a contest marked by timely hitting, heads-up defense, and a gutty complete-game effort from southpaw Jackson Petrin.
The visitors struck first, scratching across two runs in the top of the third. Seth Allen roped a double to center and came around on a sac fly from Rivera. But St. Joe’s answered swiftly and decisively in the home half of the frame. Joey DiMichele and Brandon Magni delivered back-to-back singles, a miscue in the infield allowed another tally, and Bobby Trigilio lifted a sacrifice fly to cap a four-run outburst.
Petrin, though wild at times, was masterful when it mattered. The lefty scattered one hit over seven innings of work, issuing seven free passes but striking out seven to keep the Bankers at bay. The Saints flashed the leather behind him, turning a smooth double play and playing error-free ball throughout. Trigilio anchored the defense with seven putouts.
Magni swung the hottest bat for St. Joe’s, collecting two knocks in three trips and driving in a run. DiMichele, Carillon, and Trigilio each chipped in an RBI of their own, as the Saints moved runners and made their hits count.
People’s Bank showed patience at the dish, drawing seven walks on the night, but couldn’t break through against Petrin’s late-inning resolve. Clark and Ferry led the charge with a pair of walks apiece.
With the win, the Saints continue to roll, riding a blend of good at-bats, smart baserunning, and stout pitching. A true team effort in front of the hometown faithful.
